Creating the Email/Specials Master

1. in the area under the list of pages you will see 2 boxes. Page Title & Page Name.

2. enter Email Master in each. In the Page Title Box, you must use an underscore between the 2 words.

3. in the Drop Down box on the right, select "Email_Master"

4. check the 2 small boxes.

5. scroll down to the bottom of the first set of pages. Click "Add Page".

6. Go to the Page that you created and enter all the information for the store.

You have just created the Master Template that is used to display the Daily Specials, and the template for the email!

Setting up the Daily Schedules

This step will change soon and be shortened, but for now this is the next step.

7. go to the "Specials" control panel. You will see a link for "Edit Page/Change Template"

8. to the LEFT of that link, there is a "Dropdown" box. In the box you will see the "email_master" template/page you just created.

9. select the email_master. Click the "Edit page/Change Template" link.

10. you will be brought to the same place you were when you created the Email Master Template. That is the Page Edit Screen.

YOU DO NOTHING TO THE PAGE/TEMPLATE

All we are doing is "Refreshing" the screen,so to speak and selecting the template. We have the ability to create a variety of Email Templates for our custoemrs. Each time we want to change the Template for a day, we need to go through this refresh process.

11. as soon as the page changes and you see the template, just go back to the specials page. Follow steps 9-10 and add the Email Master to every day in the Schedular.

We should have a new process shortly. When it is finished, you will not have to populate each day in the schedule. The system will use the Email Master Template for all the days in the schedule unless you need to use a different template for a specific day. At that time, you will be able to create a new template, and use it for any specific days.

 

Setting the Start Time for the Emails/Fax/Display

Select the day after the current day, select the time to send the emails/faxes.

Every store has a preferrence. If they are creating their own Specials Menus themselves, we need to know if they do it the day before, or the morning of the day they want to change their menu.

If they have no preference, we usually schedule some time between 1 am and 6 am.

About the Display on the website: At 12 midnight the current menu disappears.

At the time you set in the start up, the new menu appears.

DO NOT CHECK OFF ANY EMAIL OR FAX BOXES!

We need to double check a variety of steps before we can send the menus by fax and email.
